Are black, blue or green nail polishes

okay in your opinion? I always thought nail polishes had to be you know-pink, red, or some shade in between. Am I too old fashioned about this? Do the new colors like yellow, green, purple, and the darker colors mean anything? Are they appropriate for preteens and little girls?

I have been letting my girls wear some polishes forever, including nail jewels. But now they want what I call the "weird" colors. Do all girls wear those colors nowadays? What about women?

Well, IF my daughters had fingernails then I would probably get them some of the newer colors, but both have fingernubs too short to paint. At one time I thought Abby was going to get some nails but it was short lived. I personally have tried some purples but I haven't tried any of the other non-traditional shades. I think they look great (all but black and dark blue).

We have blue and used to have green. It got all old and gross. I have worn the blue on occasion. LOL Not regularly, but if I'm fooling around. Kristen likes to wear all sorts of colors. She likes to do alternating fingers in blue and sliver or red and silver or something like that. They really mean nothing except some fun. I like the cotton candy colors in blue and green as well, but I'm getting a bit old for that now. :-) Most people associate black polish with goths, but now it is really used by all manner of "normal" people. So not a big deal for me, but I would assume mostly kids wear the wild ones.

Working in a salon, all the little girls that get their nails done almost always choose the funky colors like the blues and greens. I don't wear polish myself, because it never stays on, and I have really ugly hands anyway. dont like to draw attention to them. They are very dry and cracky.

I can't wear nail polish; no matter what I do it doesn't stay on. My daughter likes to wear all the funky colors; in fact some times she wears a different color on each finger.

She really likes the kind with glitter in them. I bet she has every color except black.

Oh good. Now that I know the "wilder" colors are not associated with gangs or something weird, I think I would like to try blue nail polish myself. The girls were given a set of nail polish that smells like fruit and a glitter set, so I will let them go to town.

Thanks,
