If you are a working mother, what kind of work do you do? If you are a stay at home mom, do you intend to stay at home forever or do you plan to enter the work force eventually?

I am basically a stay at home mother and I homeschool my children. I do have a part time janitorial position at my daughters' gym that pays for their gymnastics fees. When my youngest (Abby 4) gets to be a teen, I may seek employment outside our home.

I have four children 10, 8, 5, 3. I have always worked here and there to help make ends meet, but basically I have been a stay at home mom for about 7 years. I have taught college part-time, substituted and tutored to help out with expenses. I will probably go back to work part-time when my youngest finishes school. I homeschool all of our children, so working outside my home is difficult at this point.

Full time working single Mom. I've always worked since she was born, although I'd love to win the lottery and be a SAHM. My ex looked after DD full-time the first year after she was born. After that we moved to Europe and had a nanny for 3 years, then after we moved back and he moved out I've been a single Mom. Its hard sometimes. My house is a disaster right now because its been so hot and I don't feel like cleaning and sweating simultaneously and because I don't get to spend much time during the week with DD I try not to spend my evenings ignoring her (although she would tell you differently LOL).

Oh yeah, I work for the Canadian government, office worker, nothing very exciting.

I am a working mother. I work nights at a local truck stop. I go to work at 12AM and come home around 8 AM I don't get much sleep because my 21 month old requires a lot of attenttion. But I wouldn't change it for the world. Uleta

I split my time - working for as event planning/fundraising consultant 20 hours a week. My daughter Katie is in daycare only about 5 hours a day for 3 days a week, as DH brings her there at lunchtime and I pick her up at 4:30p. It's a necessity right now, and I've turned down full time offers as I just don't want to work more than 20 hours if I don't have to.

I wouldn't mind moving to a less expensive area (we're in Chicago) if it would improve the quality of our lives, and I wouldn't have to work - but DH doesn't want to leave town. His business is wacky, so it may not be easy to do anyhow.

OH well, that was more info than you asked for!
