The nurse was very specific to say to stay on top of the pain. The meds say every three to four hours, so today we did every three hours. Tomorrow we will start to spread it out a little bit. I have to go back to the office, but her Gma is off and DH and I will each come home once. I wrote out when to take what for the entire day. DD19 is worried that Gma won't stay with her all day, so this will make her a little easier. I'm just very happy that she's doing so well. Tonight she came out to the living room with us to eat (she had mashed potatoes) and we've been watching tv. The pain meds make her sleep, so she's had lots of naps. :0) She's being a good patient and I hope that this keeps up. It's not fun when they are in pain. Poor thing cried yesterday!!!

Thanks Sue - unfortunately, things didn't go well with Gma. She said I gave DD19 too much pain meds. I did exactly what the rx said and we started streching out the times between doses late last night to see how it would go. I got the lecture that she wasn't eating enough and couldn't have just water and no sleep aid was needed. I had her eating well yesterday - it wasn't her normal amount of food, but I didn't expect that. I also had her drinking arizona iced tea - super sugary (DD19 loves that stuff) and I didn't give her a sleeping aid at all. I'm feeling very defeated right now. I just wish I could figure out a way to not let this woman get to me. I'm too the point where Gma has ruin the chances of us having a decent relationship. So I'll keep my focus on DD19 and getting her healthy as soon as possible. DD19 didn't eat as well today, so have to get a bit more in her tonight if she can take it. I'll update you again soon. Thanks for thinking of DD19!!

Thanks Sue! It seems that Gma is really really worried that DD19 will take after her Mom with the drug addiction issues, so Gma is standing her ground and taking her off of the stuff. DH isn't willing to question this, so I will have to stay out of this. Today, Gma is taking DD19 off of the pain meds and switching to liquid motrin. Gma will not budge on this, and I think I'll leave this up to DH. This is hard for me to do, but DD19 isn't freaking out at this point, so I will watch and see.

She has to wait until Monday to take liquid motrin. She is on a super dose rx antiinflamtory, and everyone was very specific to not take both together. I'm glad I remembered that on time, so Gma let her stay on the pain meds til we got some liquid tylenol. She did ok, but last night DH gave her the milder of the rx pain meds because she was hurting again. I'm proud of him for taking care of DD19!! and he talk to Gma some more too. He's doing a good job!! DD19 is having a good day, it gets harder as the day goes on, but already going down to tylenol is good and she's toughing it out. I'm thinking we will give her some of the milder rx pain med again to keep her sleeping good. Thanks for helping me through this!! I really think DD19 is being a trooper. I'm proud of her for being so good through all of this!.
