When Harry Potter first came out in books and movies I shared them with Mike (both the books and the movies).

I agree, Moss. I can make things not so scary when I read them!

My DD isn't particularly interested in Harry Potter - too scary she says although for some reason she wants to see the last one! The monsters are much scarier than Narnia. DH had ust woken up and walked into the living room when I was watching a Harry Potter movie on TV on Saturday and there was a horrid creature on the screen - he thought I was watching a proper horror movie! I really like the books but it's easier to control how scary they are if you are imagining them..

I can only dream about Gma knowing who DD's parents are. She surely doesn't think I'm one of them most of the time. I keep telling myself - "only until the spring". I wish things could be better in this area, just doesn't seem meant to be. She's not a bad lady. She just can't let go.

Grandma needs to learn who the parents are, and she should let you decide what dd should and should not see!

It would probably help!

Thanks. I don't think I'll read the books. This theme isn't really my thing and we have to sqeeze in watching the movies when DD10 isn't around. Gma gets very upset if we let her watch these movies and she is sure to tell us too. What's funny to me is that we can watch the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, but not Harry Potter. I don't get it.

That's so cool, Moss! Did your mum talk to her? I know I'd be too shy to say anything.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I prefer to watch them at home where I'm not freezing and being deafened. I might have to re-read the book though. I did get to see part 1 but I was confused so I think it would help if I read the book and then watch part 1 again.
