and we spent the evening in the ER. She had a bike wreck and tore up her chin. She has so many stitches and the cut is very jagged and irregular. The Dr. said he did the best he could but it would leave a bad scar. It looked so bad I almost got sick. I had to keep telling myself "be calm" on the way to the hospital. I feel so sorry for her, it was so bad. Sarah is so very beautiful I am just sick to think how bad this scar on her face could be.

Karla,Sarah,and Abby

While we were there he told me she had strep throat. Poor girl!!

OH, I'm so very sorry, hug her for me. Justin (my 15 year old) had a really bad accident on roller blades a while ago. Once she's healed, look into a Plastic surgeon to modify the scar. I had the scar tissue taken out of mine and had a dermabrasion done, relatively painless and pretty easy to do...

Awe, poor baby!!! Lots of hugs for her and mom! I can imagine how you must feel about the scar. I know there are a ton of things that can be done now, but I am praying it won't be as bad as the doctor thinks.

OOH Karla -

How is Sarah holding up? Have they given her pain medication, yikes - stitches and all this hurts!!!

Well, there is a cream out there...I'll find out the name...it does wonders on scars. Im going to start it on my surgical scar from my broken wrist. Keep a ton of sunscreen on it this summer, sun is bad for healing scars - at least 50spf. That's tip from a parent who's child had open heart surgery. Sunblock has helped to keep that scar less noticeable.

Big hugs and hot chocolate with marshmellows all around.

Didn't Abby have chin stitches this past fall too?

Good luck, Michelle - Katie's Mom.

Yes Michelle, Just about a month or so ago Abby had to get stitches in her chin. Her's was a "straight" cut and fairly easy to fix. Sarah's was a very jagged tear with missing tissue. We are going to take everyone's advice and see a plastic surgeon as soon as it heals if it looks too bad.
