Sharon Rowley, perhaps our bravest iVoice, heads out on a road trip alone with six kids! She packs along some tricks that will make you say, "I think I can do that too!"

Give us your tips for the family road trip. are you planning a trip this year??

We travel often by car. My kids have only been on a domestic flight twice, but have 2 states vitited. We had some great times and some wonderful adventures.

Living in the UK, our road trips are never as long as in the US. In Summer we're driving ten hours to the South coast of England to get a ferry to France. That's a long way to drive for us. DH wants to drive at night which means DD can sleep, which she prefers but it's not so good for me.

We take the usual DVD player, Nintendo DS, books etc and I take my knitting. Plus a picnic

We did lots of road trips following DD18's volleyball team over the last three years, and for the most part, the girls do okay. But DD18 prefers not to travel with DD10. DD10 can get sick and DD18 wants nothing to do with it. And DD18 was thinking about going into nursing.

We let the kids pack a backpak of their favorite stuff.
