Growing up without a mom I started doing my own hair when I was around 5 and had to teach myself everything by looking at magazines or MTV.

Hi

You don't say how old your DD is now.

You don't say how old your daughter was when her hair was highlighted, I have a problem with young children and babies being exposed to chemicals.....including chemicals that are used to highlight hair.

I do not agree with pageants at all. My daughter got her ears pierced very young as did I and she does not mess with them at all. She always wants to put different earrings in and talks about doing her hair and makeup because mom does it. I limit things and wondered about the chemicals more so when I was pregnant. Now I use organic color so it is a little better, it is 100% ammonia free. I am not at will to discuss her age. People parent different and I would like to stay away from negative comments. She is younger than both of your daughters. My daughter is girly but also has a tomboy side and will determine what sports and activities she wants to join.
