Your teenage daughter wants a tattoo.
A few things I think is......no tatoos until you are an adult....and remember your brain continues to grow andn isn't an adult until the age of 25!
I just saw a news segment on tatoo
I just saw this and it just sickens me.....what are we teaching our young girls.....
What do you think about Barbie's new ink?
It's against DH and DD's religion to have a tattoo as it means they are not clean (so as a consequence can never pray or go on pilgrimage)
Now that is interesting Moss!
I don't want my teens to lie and go behind my back, much like how my parents felt about me and my siblings getting tattoos (and piercings)
My parents' rules were:
No piercings (besides the ones we got as babies) until we were 13 and ONLY the ear
No other piercings until we were 18 and could afford it
Not tattoos until we were 18 and could afford it.
It really gave us time to think about it, that and my parents didn't tell me NO, they just said we will have a time to get one. When the time came, they made sure we went somewhere that was clean! Not some backdoor jobs where they use drug needles sterilized by lighter flames, disease and infection all over the place.
I want my kids to know that tattoos are a BIG decision. Sure you can remove them, but it is very painful and will scar you for LIFE. The tattoo is gone, the scar is there. I got my first tattoo at 18 on my lower abdoment (so it is covered up in a bikini) and I do plan on getting more. I personally enjoy it. As long as it's not something random and stupid (like my name, why do people feel the need to tattoo their own names??!!)
