Is a television OK in a child's room?

Would you allow your child to have a television in their room? Why or why not? If it is ok, what age do you feel it is appropriate????

No real age, but older kid for sure. My kids were into their terns before they got computers in their rooms and neither has TV

We did the TV for their 13'th birthday.....but if I had to do it all over again I think that I would have waited until older.

DH tried TV's in the girls' rooms when he first got into the house and he ended up taking them out. OSD brought a TV back with her but she won't help pay for an extra cable box, so she's letting her teammates borrower it in their dorm room. I don't know that we will allow YSD to have a TV in her room. We will have an extra one in the basement when we finish fixing it up, so that will be enough.
