Tips for Dealing With Your Teen's "Smart Mouth"

I don't have a big problem in this department, Usually a "watch your mouth, I am your mother." will suffice. But, we never allowed it when they were little, so they know not to give me any attitude. My 17 year old will let a curse word slide out now and then. not talkig to me, but with someone else or on the phone. She always turns beet red and apolgizes.

I must admit that we treat it the same with teenagers as when they were 2 years old.

I've used "nice try" on DD19. Yesterday she's telling me and a friend that she doesn't understand why she shouldn't be allowed to park in the garage - at least once in a while. I told her to get busy cleaning out the third bay in the garage and she'd be all set!!! :0)
