This has been a discussion in my house as a mom of a friend of Lizzie's said that she is "too old to go trick or treating".

I stopped trick or treating after sixth grade because my mother said I was too old. My daughter stopped at around the same age, but in her case she decided on her own that she was too old. I think it's fine for teenagers to go as long as they aren't scaring or bullying the little kids--there are a lot worse things a 16-year-old could be doing on Halloween than wearing a costume and collecting candy!

I must agree with you that there are worse things for a 16 year old to be doing!

I like it when the teens come dressed up. I do expect a costume. We live by the High School and we always get teens. Both my teens will be going out in costume.

Slightly different where I live. Definitely no-one over elementary school age and usually only 2-8 years olds go round houses with their parents but it does vary a bit.

Interesting to see what goes on all over the place!
