I'm very much understanding about having patience right now. DD18 is so back and forth about the two colleges. Right now I'm worried that she is picking to stay home because a boy from our local university is showing interest in her and turning her head. More worry is layered on this one. The boy has just turned 22. DD18 will be 19 in a few months, but that still seems like a bigger gap than she might be able to handle. We are just encouraging her to be cautious and to take her time. I did come straight out and say that when it comes to picking a school that boys can not be a part of the decision and she agreed. DF is really worried that this is why she is choosing to stay home right now. Gma is being WAY to pushy about which schools are okay and which are not and DD18 is getting stuburn about some of it. I just dont want her to have to big of regrets. I also worry that having her Mom close is not a great option for her. A fresh beginning may be good for her, but I keep telling her that both options are good and this is her choice to make. It's about what her future holds and what she will be happy doing!!!
So looking at the positives like you said, I encouraged her to tell her Dad about this new guy and she did last night. She asked me to be around if she did and I told her that I would do that no problem!! I didn't even tell her she had to tell Dad to just think about it. I was proud of her for being brave. Then a week or so ago, one of the girls that refs for the volleyball league that is a player on the local university team told her that a few of the other players quit the team and that she should contact the coach. She did it all on her own and she has an appointment with him next week!! She was nurvous, but she did it!! She's really narrowed down her field of study to about three. Which I think is good for a senior. She can take classes that lead up to any of them (as they are closely related) her first year and then decide from there. I think it is setting up nicely for her. Since no one can peg exactly what is best for her, I just keep praying that God will look over her and help her along.
