At 10:13am today, via C-Section, baby Layla Annice was born.  9lbs8oz, and 22 inches.  She is pudgy and unwrinkled, with a nice melon head.  Pics will follow.  The OB, upon hearing that her name was Layla, said, "I LOVE Eric Clapton.  Nurse, find that song on my Pandora , and play it on the loudspeakers!!"  So Layla was playing as Layla was born.
Rael had a hard time getting numb.  They had to give her a double dose in her spinal, and so she took quite a bit longer to regain use of her lower half.  She also had lower BP than they liked, for a while, but everything came around by about 2pm.  She is on clears for 24 hrs, and they will both come home Sunday.

Kid’s half grown.  LOL

All Brains though, I’m certain.

GIVE ME THE DRUGS DOC, if you don’t want to hear a woman screaming.  LOL

Seriously, it is good to hear that all is well with grandmother, mother and the new little one.

Years ago I saw a bumper sticker that I like,  “Every baby is another vote by GOD that humanity should continue.”

Congratulations on another grandchild.  My DD was 9 lbs. 10 oz. because she was overdue, was born by C section and had that very pudgy look--and it was very hard to pick her up because of the C-section and the weight!  Today she's 5'4" and medium sized.

congratulations!   Sounds like a fine, big girl!  My daughter was bigger than all of her three brothers at 9 pounds, 4 ounces.  My grandson wins the prize, though-- 11 pounds, 3 ounces!  Now, at 6 months--he weighs 23 pounds.
