This book dragged on and on but is basically the same old story of a girl falling for the wrong guy and realizing it too late.

Rats! This book just came in for me at the library. I'll still give it a try but this sounds like a good reason to not finish it if I want to ;-)

Thanks, Jennifer!

The beginning is very dry with all the science stuff. If you decide to give up I'll tell you what the twist is at the end.

Where's that like button they're working on when I need it?? ;-) (It won't be like FB's like button)

But, I'll hold you to that! Thanks, Jennifer :)

Okay, I have NO idea what I just read! I wish the library kept a list of books that I recently checked out ;-) I swear I read The Alchemist's Daughter but it was nothing like this! The book I read was sort of a Louisa May Alcott wannabe. The age of living where women couldn't inherit, the alchemist's daughter is invited to London to live with her aunt & uncle to hopefully find a good match. Lilly becomes the belle of the ball but suitors leave because she's not rich enough.

I'm so confused!! LOL

I think you might be confusing it with The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen. In that book she helps her father even though she's not supposed too. She does leave to live with her Aunt & Uncle for a season but returns home when her father takes ill. I have this one further down in this folder.

LMBO!! Thanks, Jennifer!! You are absolutely correct! But, now I have this one on reserve at the library too.

Thank you for helping me not be as crazy as I thought I was ;-)

Don't worry lol I read three books in a row with "daughter" in the title! Apothecary's Daughter, Alchemists Daughter and Hangman's Daughter ;-)

Jen,

I've got another daughter book for you. The Kitchen Daughter by Jael McHenry is waiting for me to pick up at the library. The reviews sound good.

I missed this post. I will have to check that one out. It was just total coincidence how I ended up with all "daughter" books lol
