Ok, several of us keep talking about moving piles, decluttering parts of of our homes, rotating schedules of what to clean... and there seemed to be interest when I brought this up in chat.
Jules of Pancakes and French Fries blog challenged herself to complete a task each day in October (!!!) to live up to this William Morris Quote:
Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.
I love it. It leaves a lot of leeway - if you love it/think it is beautiful, but not useful, it still fits, no?
Here is the first of her posts in October, with her reasoning. http://pancakesandfrenchfries.com/2011/10/day-1-31-days-of-william-morris/ I LOVE that she made a list of her projects, so that she can pick and choose, plan for others...you know there are some projects that you have to be in the RIGHT mood for. Some of her projects were simple, like cleaning the kitchen cabinets, baseboards, etc. Or cleaning out ONE bathroom drawer. Progress is progress my friends!
Here is her current post on the subject. http://pancakesandfrenchfries.com/2012/01/the-william-morris-project2012/
The gist is that she will do one project a week and post on Thursdays. Last night most everyone said Thursdays would not work. I think the actual date you do your project on doesn't matter. You could have all week, and post on the day you complete your project, or bythe end of the week.
What day do you want to post by?
Photos, or not?
Post your list of projects here? Assuming they will evolve as we finish some and add others.
Karen also found a faith based blog that will be doing a decluttering challenge for a few weeks, starting... next week, or the
