Whats happening in your world today?
I am at work.
I may not have any skin left by the end of the day. I got mosquito bites this weekend. I am not so sure thats what it is any longer. New bumps are forming all the time. some are large welts-like quarter size and it itches!!!! its making me crazy.
At 10 I am going to diva's house to watch her daycare kids while she takes smiley for her check up. that will be my lunch hour for the day. I have to run to the store for a couple things after she gets back. then its back to work.
right after work i have to get ready for the boy scout court of honor. need to be at the church by 6. probably won't get home til 9. then i will need to finish my homework.
if the appearnce of bumps doesn't stop soon i may end up at walk in today.
thats all for now.
have a great day!
I need to wake Mira up, she is still sleeping.
I have a list, including getting the Monday folder notice out, cleaning after the weekend, folding a ton of laundry, taking stuff to Goodwill, mowing and weeding.
First, work for a short staff meeting. Big things coming up that need decisions but there is a funeral this morning as well. I'll grab what's left of the veggies from the weekend and take to the Food Pantry before I head home to my list. Also taking the girls old quilts & shams to offer to a few people at work (slightly faded on the back from treating things like silly putty stains, a piece of lace missing here & there but overall still nice) and then to the church daycare to see if anyone there wants them.
Mira has her violin lesson right after school on Mondays now (right across from the school too, wahoo). Natasha has late audtions for concert band placement so a bit of back & forth afterschool for me. She is really frustrated by the audition piece as it is very difficult, and she wants to be in the band with the head of the music department, she doesn't have a lot of respect for the other guy (He tells them one thing when the information the head guy sends the parents says otherwise), and was frustrated with last years pieces - they were not very challenging or exciting to practice for months on end while the best band did some REALLY cool stuff. But they had to use something to separate those who should be first chair in the best band, cull those who don't practice at all or who think they can just swoop in and sightread (especially since marching band is now separate from concert bands). I've done all the supporting I could, and she knows they won't expect someone who usually plays second/third parts to be able to hit high first part notes, but I think she'll not be happy when I pick her up.
LOL, where am I?
Oh yeah, here at work. Emilee had to be at school very early this morning for one act call backs. She is so hoping that she gets a part! Sarah has call backs for praise band after school. That is not quite as promising; they had tryouts before school started in early August but not everyone got the word/was available. So they decided to call everyone back plus some new people tonight after school. Also after school is cross country for Em. DH will pick Em up, I'm picking up Sarah and will take her directly to volleyball. I was hoping to squeeze supper in before volleyball but it is not going to work. So I guess we will just be eating late.
That's all. Have a good day everyone.
well, she is registered for Concert Band regardless, (required if you are in Marching Band. You can be in Concert Band now without being in Marching Band, but not the opposite) so she will be in one of the bands and I am guessing they will have sorted the ratings by the end of the week as they have a concert sometime end of October.
Honestly, I am certain she will be in the Symphonic Band instead of the Wind Symphony, she is too frustrated with the piece, and she really doesn't practice outside of the school year. They started on Marching band music last Spring, so she worked just enough to memorize the music before camp started and a few scales.
She'd rather practice her guitar and I respect that (especially since I am paying for those lessons) and she doesn't want to take trumpet lessons though I may yet again suggest that we arrange a few with a friend of ours. She did practice this piece, but realistically she was in no shape to take it on. So it is really a matter of matching her expectations to what she is willing to do and the effort she could have put towards increasing her range over the summer.
