I am home today. took the day off. Needed to rest. told c to walk to school. I slept in. got up just after 9, smiley and diva were coming by she wanted to show me couch photo. then started laundry, ate some breakfast and showered. I finally don't smell like campfire smoke. now I am going to do homework. I have alot to get done for tomorrow and I am going to do a ton of laundry and cleaning today as well. I hope to have everything done before scouts tonight so that I can just relax after. Take care everyone.

LOL Thanks, Karen! I have no idea what kind of cost there is involved. The front panel is 1/6 (?)  of a 12 x 12 page from a book of pages. The lace was given to me. I can't remember how much the cardstock was, but it came in a package as well. I probably got at least half a dozen tags and signing blocks from one sheet. How do you quantify ink and/or adhesive? And of course, there are the lunch sacks bought so long ago I have no EARTHLY idea what I paid for them. I suck at this! LOL It takes me about fifteen minutes to put together one card. Not counting time, maybe fifty cents a card? MAYBE? I'm not even sure there is that much. And can you really count time? I kind of figure the time is my relaxation. If this was my source of income, I would see it differently, but I'm afraid if I charged for time, I'd charge myself right out of selling them. I could do the individual or packet prices. Do you REALLY think I could get $2/card? Holy cow!

Yes, you count time! because if, at some point, you start to sell them as a business instead of just a little bit of profit off of relaxation then you'll need to raise prices. No, include the time now. Take the time and price out the supplies then - one piece of CS, what are paper bags, what is the average cost of a paper pad in that size? You can always adjust if you find yourself using significantly more expensive products later on. The standard for billing used to be 2.5 times the time/cost of a product/project - that counts for taxes, overhead, insurance, etc. In your case - time, etc. I think now the formula is something like 3 times the cost? You should also build in your listing fees and shipping. The relaxation part? That is a bonus, making money doing something you LOVE. There is nothing wrong in doing that you know, and you should be compensated for your time. ALL of it!

Hi Jill - sorry about the relationship. I saw your FB post come through. But your photo is adorable :). Hang in there! Stacy - yay for a day off to do what you need to do - and not smelling like smoke! Hiya Karen :). Sounds like a good weekend - and good Monday? Lauren, how was the craft fair?
