What's a favorite scrapping/card making technique?
I love inking chipboard, with chalk ink or Tim Holtz sponges, or coating with spray inks - or all of the above!
3 people out the door, although 2 are not feeling well, so I'll have my phone close all day. The middle child is healthy as can be, except she hurt her knee in volleyball yesterday because she couldn't find her knee pads - and dove for a ball anyway. She had all weekend to find them, ask about them, and not a peep and of course last night she had a full evening of homework after her games so now *I* need to go find them.
Natasha had a full slate of homework for once too, so no bowling last night either. We'll try again tonight, if she is feeling ok.
Need to wake the little one and see if I have ingredients for something mild. I was going to make crock pot tortilla soup, but I'm thinking that might not be the best idea! Hmmm. I can make Ginger beef with mild jasmine rice. That will settle stomachs and not offend any noses. That's settled!
Just a few more minutes till I can call the Mom I alternate volleyball carpool with to doublecheck she is driving this afternoon, else I need to arrange to get the Jeep. She's on it! lol, more time for me to find those kneepads!
The day: Botanic Center volunteer this morning - not staying for lunch. Do the yardwork I didn't do again yesterday (the skies opened up so I stayed at work), spend an hour picking up in the playroom for tomorrows playdate, and choose papers for several photo/sketch only LO's I have.
No meetings again tonight! Woo!
My goal today is to finish Gigi;s dress. I am subbing in reled tomorrow, so I have to go over the lesson plans. Gigi has a game tonight, but it is still raining, the team won't cheer.
I am still deciding if I want to go to Iowa. Its a crazy time of year for us.
Other than that, I am just busy, busy, busy.
My teachers were making fun of me, because I was/am still wearing my pj's when driving the kids to school.
Hmm, favorite technique. I love the LOOK of inking, it adds so much, but I can't say that I like doing it. I love adding some 3-D with folding and crumpling. Stitching is another thing that looks awesome, but eh as far as doing. I guess what I need is a very fast, easy technique that gives big bang for the buck. Haven't found one yet.
Yawn. Tired this morning. So tired that I am drinking coffee at work. I hope I can make it through the day without falling asleep at my desk. At least it is a short day, right? Leaving about 3:15 to pick Sarah up for piano. The bad thing is that we will have a little time to kill, but I don't know how to make that different. Maybe I need to have her do afterschool for half an hour on Tuesdays. Piano at 4, then probably a quick stop at home before running her to volleyball. We will have veggie soup and whole wheat rolls after volleyball. Not sure what I am doing during piano practice.
Emilee has a cross country meet this afternoon. One of the other moms is going to pick up her daughter and Em from the meet and take them to one act practice. So glad I do not have Em's day! At the school from 7:05 AM until 9:00 PM with a short break for a 4K run. I'll probably be the one to pick Em up when her practice is done.
Last night when I got home from the volleyball game I was tired and really did not want to do anything! I set my interval timer for 10 minutes and alternated between the kitchen, laundry, and scrappy planning. Eventually I just ended up putting extra time in the kitchen. At first I was doing some cleanup there; we didn't get everything cleaned up before we had to rush off to the volleyball game. Once I got the last of the dishes done and the counters cleaned up, I started chopping veggies for the soup. Glad I started on that last night; I never would have gotten it all done this morning.
Laundry I don't feel like went so well. When my husband does laundry and folds anything, he makes random piles all over the laundry room. I go in there and don't feel like I can even think! (Which is really kind of funny considering I am a piler myself; it's just that my piles make sense to me!) My first task then, was sorting out the folded and hung up laundry and dispatching it to where it went. I had to hunt down more hangers. LOL, and Copper kept thinking that I was clearing flat surfaces for her. Anyway, I will still be working on laundry tonight.
Scrappy planning went better than laundry. I allotted the new paper that I bought to the two layouts that I bought it for and determined that my second choice for another paper (using stuff I had rather than buying new) was going to work okay. Technically, that was the 2 LOs that I hoped to get done last night. I figured out papers for 2 more after that and looked at a fifth. Pretty good. Almost half of my remaining layouts! Will continue with that tonight in and around folding laundry.
YAY for no evening meetings! Enjoy your time at the botanic center. Ginger beef sounds wonderful!
Missy, please come! Please please please please please! Seriously, if you wait until it is not a crazy time of year, we will all be in nursing homes. Just do it. You know you want to.
Good luck with Gigi's dress! We want to see pics when it is done.
Good morning! Favorite technique? I love using my cat's eye inks to ink edges. Or spray inking a white background for some depth.Up early to get 2 littles off to two different schools. Rosie starts at the new place today & was VERY excited! Here's hoping she still enjoys it when we pick her up! I forced myself up at 5:30 & went for a run so I didn't have to worry about it tonight. Now work, pick up kids, gymnastics, pizza? and home to bed. R's bus will come at 6:42 tomorrow -- she is NOT going to be so thrilled about that, lol. That's all I got. Have a wonderful day!
Hi everyone. I was exhausted yesterday after having to get up early for the rheumy dr. Would you believe I actually told them the appt, gave them the financial paper and that was it? No problems, no rudeness, no craziness? When I went to the desk to get my next appt, I told them I wanted the morning appt, b/c there was so much less hassle and I got them now for mornings, hopefully. I also didn't have to wait FOREVER either. It's so weird not being annoyed! LOL
Anyway, we came home and took a nap b/c we were both exhausted from getting to sleep late. I worked on some quilling stuff later in the afternoon and did a little bit of picking up around the house.
Today, it's probably going to be a lay-low kinda day. Nothing exciting is going on today--I'll probably just scrap and list a few things in my shop. I think I have pictures I could take too. It's a bit chilly but nice out b/c it won't be hot in here today! That's about it for now!
