Geo, I think the picture frame idea sounds great! you might be able to find a set of mini pens that are on key rings or such that you can hang on another nail or such eliminating the need for the small tray or such to be attached.
Or you could make another pocket/envelope to put the pencils in
I cannot wait to see it! I love the Prayer Wall title!

Geo, it sounds like a lovely idea. Really, it does.

But I feel the need to look & see if you are on Facebook to STOP you. Reading that list is making ME nervous! Heavens woman! Your heart is in the right place, but you are obviously an overacheiver. CHOOSE not to do this much work. You were choosing to

Well, friends ... LOL I love your ideas ... but I ran with the picture frames. I haven't purchased them yet, but when I posted this, I had nothing ready for the books except the rectangles cut for the mandalas which had already been copied, and the pages cut for one book. I got Stacy's reply to my post after dinner, and at the time, it was the only one that had been posted/come through on my phone (?), which gave me the boost I needed.

I sketched my design for the LO, and stamped one side of all the prayer cards last night. I'll cut those out, stamp the other side, and stamp the month on each one (12 for each person). That won't take long.

I'll stop at Wal Mart in the next few days for the frames (I'd have to buy composition journals or a small gift anyway), and I can finish them on Thursday.

In the meantime, I can work on the prayer tags. I have several already cut that I can just pull out of my box of extras (YEA for organization!) and start embellishing with simple stamp or punch or die cut embellies. None of the prayers are long at all, so that won't be terribly time consuming either, and I can carry that with me to work on in waiting rooms at dr.'s appts. I have in the next few days. I couldn't do that with the books because it would have been much more involved.

One of the challenges of this has been that I know for certain four of the staff members do not like to journal at ALL, so I'm fairly certain a journal would not be used in any way, shape or fashion, sadly, though I, personally, would LOVE such a book, with perhaps a prayer written at the top of every other page to focus my thoughts for the day. (Note to self for when the holidays are over.)

MJ, I was ready to chuck it all in yesterday and buy gifts. The other problem is, it took me FOR EVER to figure out what to do that I thought all of them might enjoy that going back to the drawing board was also daunting. I searched the internet before I ended up deciding to just modify my original plan.

We use a prayer wall with the kids at church in our monthly spirituality center. It's not a completely foreign idea to the folks at the church, so the staff will be sort of familiar with it ... some more so than others ... and I feel comfortable creating it. The LO is not fancy. The size of the pockets and tags means they fit the 2/3, 1/3 design plan, and the title will center nicely across the bottom. I have enough different alphabets between Sizzix and Cricut that I can cut a different style for each person without any trouble, and I have coordinating papers that can make each one unique. I have punches and dies galore for embellishing the pockets, and I have after work tonight and tomorrow night and then a little time tomorrow morning and Wednesday morning plus Thursday and Friday to finish them. I don't think it will take that long, but I'm feeling like I'm O.K. Ugh. I'm starting sooner next year.

I truly appreciate your responses. Thank you for being the kinds of people who shoot straight and respond quickly. I appreciate you.

I know you can do this Geo, and you certainly have thought it out - if you are that prepared, it sounds totally doable. (and I really do like the idea).

You just sounded SO flustered! Now you sound calm. Keep that feeling ok?

I woke up thinking that you can certainly do the books for next year, when there is no wedding with envelopes to stuff, dresses to buy, etc. All your rooms have been moved and rearranged...

Thanks, MJ. I do feel calmer. Last night, I was very flustered and ready to curl up
in bed and not come out until after the holidays. I'll stop tonight after work
for frames. I think it's under control now. Thank you again.
