make some smarties names

I was going through some stuff on my computer looking for something and found these smarties which I made way back in 2008!

I hope I kept a note of the tutorial I used because I'd like to be reminded of how I did those glossy bits!

Anyway, I thought I'd put them up as a challenge for you to make some letters out of them. Here's my name using Helvetica in white for the letters. Not too shabby.

Feel free to recolour the smarties as you like. I don't know how that's done in PSP or Gimp but, in PS, just select the layer and bring up the hue/saturation menu box (ctrl-U/cmd-U) and play with the hue slider.

Let's see your smarties names. :)

Have fun!

Mmmmm, I just thought - you do have Smarties over there don't you? They come in a tube like this:

They're a wee bit like M&Ms but only chocolate inside - and very, very tasty. :D

This is a smartie in the US. It doesn't have chocolate. :)

But you can find the chocolate smarties here at places like whole foods. They taste different than M&M's, more like Sixlets.

Are those fizzy when you eat them? If they are, we call those Refreshers. Or at least that's what we called them when I was a child. I don't know when I last saw those for sale!

No, I didn't make those letters. It was an alpha that I got from somewhere. I can't find it right now but I found the offer and the shiny bits are different. See -

Anne, the smarties pictured above are not fizzy, they are super good and sugary :) kind of like sweet tarts, but no tart - all sweet!

Your smarties sound awesome!!! I used to love sixlets!
