Good morning, girlies! How's everyone this week?

I hope all our east coasters have managed to get through the visit from Irene? We had thought Debbie (in Nova Scotia) would get hit but by the looks of the tracker this morning, she's going to only get the outer edges of the storm.

Also we (in Scotland) were supposed to get the tail end of her next weekend but I see they now think she's going to go up and over the north Iceland and so avoid us altogether. Of course, things might change by then - and José might gather some power too. Ahh, the unknown quantities of Mother Nature!

Anyway, got some sewing to do today and, of course, the washing which is in the machine as I type. By the looks of it, I should be able to get it outside to dry today. I do love the smell of the washing after it's been hanging outside. :)

Hey ladies!

Busy busy busy. I'm trying to get everything ready for Peter's birthday party on the 10th, and I'm struggling. Pretty much, I have a banner to hang up, and a diaper that matches the theme. No food, no table stuff (cups/plates/silverware), no wrapping paper. Ha! Oh, I did schedule a time to get a portrait of him done so I can sit it on the gift table. My priorities are lined up.

The only work I've done in PS lately is Peter's invite, and my cousin's invite. I'll post them Friday after I blur out addresses and phone numbers.

Today is crazy. I just got a promotion at work, but there's no one to replace me, so I'm doing TWO jobs. And training a graduate student. Oy. I probably should get off here...

Congratulations on your promotion, Liz. Shame there's nobody to replace you, though. I hope you're getting paid to do 2 jobs? Somehow I doubt it!

Nope. I still have to be formally approved by the state since it's more than a 10% increase in salary, so I won't technically get paid the new salary until probably next month (unless the stars align right). And hopefully they can list my position soon, but it can't be filled until I officially vacate it.

Confusing enough? LOL

The Va earthquake last week was only 200 miles from here.
We felt the ground shake and no damage.
The University issue a text alert when the earthquake occured

Thanks, Sara. Ellie Lash is having a retirement sale (of kits, not herself!!) and I bought quite a few bits and bobs yesterday. That alpha was in one of the kits.

I must admit, I posted a post and had forgotten I'd changed my siggy and, when I saw it, it made me smile. :)

Yes, it's a state university, though we don't have public funding grants--at least for my office.
