Is Photoshop easy to learn?

I want to start doing more with my pics than just the basic cropping but I don't know which software would be best. I hear about photoshop the most often but would that be a good choice for a beginner? Or is it just higher level stuff? Is there a tutorial?

If not photoshop, what do you suggest?

I've had Photoshop and find it kind of complicated. I now have Photoshop Elements which is more for non-professionals. I've also downloaded a whole bunch of free photo editing programs, some that are only for specific jobs. My favorite is one called In Paint that lets you remove objects from pictures. They offer it free from time to time on Giveawayoftheday. You can also check Kim Komando's website for free photo editing programs and reviews. For a beginner, it's probably best to start with a simple program like Picasso. I actually use the program that came with Microsoft Office a lot. It's in Office 2010 Tools and it's called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It's especially good for people like me who can't get a straight horizon because you can rotate the picture by degrees and then just crop out the blank parts. It's a really easy program for beginners.

Ohh...that "Paint" program sounds really neat! I may have to try that one! I could have a lot of fun removing mean objects from pictures. Innocent

By "Picasso", did you mean "Picassa", by chance? That's the program I've been using.
