I'm thinking today, about starting new habits, improving on or changing others.

I just ordered the facercise book.

This one made me think of the books I was reading. I used to just stick with one author.

Her books and stories changed and then I finally decided to change authors.

Wow! Discovering different authors is making reading more interesting again.

I am also trying out different recipes for meals.

Yes , I do agree it took time for me to adjust and try out different things.

I was going to answer instinctively that I am very set in my ways but, when I really stop to think about it, I've gotten better. On a scale of 1-10, I'm probably a 7 now, down from an 8 or 9 a few years ago. LOL

Working out is one example for me. It only became part of my daily routine a few years ago and if anyone had told me prior to that I would miss working out some days, I would have said they were crazy. There's a statement that floats around about how long it takes to create a new habit. 21 days? 34 days? Something like that. Anyway, if you can just stick with something new until it becomes habit, then the habit will help you stick wtih it. Of course, you have to be careful not to sabotage yourself with *negative* habits. LOL

On the espresso machine, maybe you should dig out the instructions and store them close to the machine so the next time you have an opportunity to use it, you don't have that excuse! ;)

Good question Diana! I am set in my ways, but my ways are not set in concrete! My husband would tell you I am very set in my ways if you'd ask him, but he doesn't realize how many ways I have compromised or losened up since we got married 2½ years ago!! I like having things my way, but I do realize that isn't always going to happen.

I broke some of my old good diet & exercise habits from years past and would like to get them back again, but it's so darned hard to change and stick to it. It doesn't take that long to form new habits, but sometimes the drive is weaker than the want.

Being retired and in the "keep it simple" phase of my life, I've gotten lazy!! Improving and starting new habits takes work. Still, though, sometimes we just have to do it.

Good luck with your Facercise book! If you do keep it up, you'll be looking like a young 20-something chick in a few months!! ;) Just kidding of course, any form of sensible exercise is a good thing!

About that espresso machine...I so understand!! I'm allergic to instruction books and sometimes never learn how to use things because of those darned books! They put way too many unnecessary words in them and I get overwhelmed trying to filter through the words to get to the meat of what I need to know!

I just bought a new camera. Now I have to learn how to operate the thing! I hate the learning process!! Once I get it down pat, though, it will be simple...learning a new habit!
