Are we sharing too much online?

I was already thinking about this question after reading about Hannah Anderson answering questions from the general public on the website Ask.FM

http://www.heavy.com/news/2013/08/hannah-anderson-ask-fm-questions-answers-kidnapping/

when I saw this on OpEd piece on the CNN homepage this morning:

http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/16/opinion/obeidallah-social-media-sharing/index.html?hpt=op_t1

The article makes some good points for both sides (yes we're sharing too much/no we're not) but what I really thought was interesting were some of the comments left by people. There seemed to be a vast majority for the " we're sharing too much" side. I wonder, though, how much demographics plays a part on how you feel on the subject. As the article pointed out, younger generations have grown acustomed to sharing events & experiences from everyday life so of course they are more likely to say "no, we're not sharing too much".

What do you think? Are we sharing too much? And do you think age has anything to do with how someone might feel about the subject?

Age for sure plays a factor here.  What  I consider being too much most likely won't be too much to someone 10 years+ younger than myself.  Overall though, I do think some people share too much. I often shake my head at some of the things I read!  I follow a blogger who is documenting her journey through marriage counseling.  To me, that's too much.  To others, she's brave or sharing.  It just depends on the person and their upbringing I think!
