How many of you make homemade gifts for family and friends?
I'd like to, but I'm just not crafty enough to make anything worth giving to anyone.
Well, okay, I do often make baked goodies for the neighbors.
I'm not too crafty.
My mom gave me a sewing machine for my college graduation (i was a "nontraditional" student). That was 3 yrs ago and I am still haven't quite conquered it. But, I have started making blankets and pillows for birthdays. Very simple, I don't need a pattern and if the recipient is young enough or old enough, he or she doesn't care if it's asymetrical or if it has an even seam allowance all the way around. So, I have complete 2 throw-size blankets and 3 pillows. No one told me they hate it so everyone is either very polite and/or they appreciated the thought and time.
I have also made cookies, cakes, breads & candies for Birthdays. And a couple years now I have made home-made treats for my nieces & nephews on Halloween. They really did love those, since kids don't really get home-made stuff for Halloween anymore, I thought it might hit a chord with them. And it did. ninipanini
I've never done anything really big or "across the board" but a few things I've done include: the usual baked goods (mini breads for teachers, cookies and such), handmade note cards (combination of rubber stamping and scrapbooking), gift tags (that was a Secret Santa gift a couple of years ago). This year I got a laminating machine for my birthday so I'm going to make bookmarks to include in a few gifts. Some of the cousins are getting gift certficates to Barnes & Noble and I thought I'd make them some bookmarks to go along with it.
There ya go Ann!
I've made felt ornaments for family & friends. I try to make homemade things instead of store bought. I'm love to bake but don't have to the time. LOL
