I've never had a problem with that. I know a lot of people do though and I can understand that. When my DD's inlaws have given more than I have been able to do, I feel thankful that they can give more and are willing to be so generous. The biggest giver, though, is my XDH, my 1st husband and the father of my DD1. He has given elaborate gifts and taken DD on great vacation trips and such. I am so very thankful, grateful, that he is able and willing to give her these opportunities. Things he has bought her and the kids have helped them out so much. In the beginning years after our divorce, I expect he gave a lot of gifts to show off or one up me. My feelings were always go ahead and give, give more, give often and give generously for our daughter benefits from your generosity no matter where your heart lies. My daughter is what is most important.
