Melissa...My husband mainly reads free books on his Cruz, but there are a lot of lesser quality books available for sure!

What is the name of the app you have to keep a list of books you've read? I may be interested in such a list..thank you.

donna,

i got a lot of stuff on it here that i won't be able to download once i am home again. i got the weather channel app., some game apps too. i think one has 200 and something solitaire games on it. then i like jewels and got that one.

plus marina downloaded a bunch of music to it and pictures of the kids. in fact, there is an app that will take one of your pictures and make it into a puzzle. i thought that was really neat.

my fire is backlit. i had to get a light for the old one and since i won't be using it anymore gave it to my granddaughter jaden for her nook.

it's so much easier to use than the old one and a lot faster. all the books are stored on the cloud and you just put on the ones that you want to read right away.

i'm so happy that i finally got it. lol

yes, the next generation is the one that doesn't work.

the fire does so much more it's like a little computer. i can get online although we have not been able to get that to work yet.

i have some music on there and pictures of the family. there are also game apps and i downloaded a few of them.

i just got games that i can play without the wireless being turned on. that really eats up the battery. as it is i am charging it everyday. lol

there was a lady in a kindle forum that said she leaves her's on the charger when she is home and only takes it off when she goes somewhere. might have to do that at home can't do it here because of where the outlets are.

marina had a bunch of music on her computer and just downloaded it to the kindle from her computer.

OK on the music .. I will see what I can find out myself, LOL
Thanks for your help :)

Yes, I know by my own Fire that it's backlit and about the cloud and the book reading and storage. You can't see a backlit screen in bright sunlight, though, so having both a backlit and an ink lit would be beneficial I think. Downloading a bit of music might be nice, I'll consider that. Loading photos sounds like a nice option, too, and I'll look into that also. I'm not big on games, so don't know if I'll use that option or not. Thank you for the tips, appreciate it!! Glad you're happy with your's!!
