what do you do when you plan a trip....

Do you research the trip yourself, call a travel agent, or just drive?

Do you have a strict budget, little budget or none?

Do you buy a new wardrobe, a few things, or go as you are?

Will you go for a vacation that is hot, cold or somewhere inbetween?

Where ever you go do you...want to see and do everything, sit on a beach or other?

Add a question....

what brought these questions on...well first of all the travel thread and then my booking of a two night stay in winnipeg next month for dh`s appt. Got a good online price deal on the room....now what to do while there. Dh wanted to go to a Jets game...but you have to go on a list to be drawn for tickets they are that much in demand

Yes we brought fruits and water. the place had fridge and microwave. If we eat out and had leftovers , we would warm up the leftovers. Not sure of walking tours, we just walked around by ourselves. We went along the coast . Yes the biking is fun as a group.

ya i think we will do a lot of meals back in the room. wow the price of eating out!! looking forward to getting away though

Good idea tip to bring microwaveable bowls for your leftovers. we always forget but we use paperplates.

We have never used a travel agent so we've always done the research ourselves.

Do you have a strict budget, little budget or none?

We aren't very strict but we usually have a reasonable budget.

I do too

We research, plan, and make arrangements ourselves.

Do you have a strict budget, little budget or none?

Somewhat of an idea of what it will cost, but we know there are always surprises.

Isnt that the truth

Do you buy a new wardrobe, a few things, or go as you are?

We generally don't need to buy anything. Sometimes we'll buy something while on a trip, but we don't go shopping on purpose. If we see something we like and it's reasonably priced, we'll maybe buy it as a rememberance of the trip.

Ya i like to do that too. i often bring the kids t shirts too

Will you go for a vacation that is hot, cold or somewhere inbetween?

We prefer to be comfortably warm, but not sweaty hot.

ya you can be too hot

Where ever you go do you...want to see and do everything, sit on a beach or other?

Both see things and sit and relax too.

Ya i get bored and have to see stuff

Add a question....

Can't think of any, but if you go on over and visit my Vacations & Trips board, there are lots of ideas and tips there. You can find the link under my siggy.

good idea!! another thing we often bring is my picnic bag if staying for a few days. it has the knives forks, spoons, plates, bowls, and i pit salt and pepper, ketchup, mustard, relish, margarine and ziplocks in it too. I like to take disposable glasses too some places too. when i cleaned a hotel in my 20`s i remember we had a pail that you dipped the glasses in to wash them. this often lasted all day. food for thought when you go to a hotel!! dont forget if going for a few days...take a a quilt if that is what you use and your pillows. I also have a bathroom bag i hang on the door. Hate having stuff out and forgetting it or it walks. yes maid will take stuff...i have seen it. esp drugs or change left in the open
