what do you do when you plan a trip....
Do you research the trip yourself, call a travel agent, or just drive?
Do you have a strict budget, little budget or none?
Do you buy a new wardrobe, a few things, or go as you are?
Will you go for a vacation that is hot, cold or somewhere inbetween?
Where ever you go do you...want to see and do everything, sit on a beach or other?

what brought these questions on...well first of all the travel thread and then my booking of a two night stay in winnipeg next month for dh`s appt. Got a good online price deal on the room....now what to do while there. Dh wanted to go to a Jets game...but you have to go on a list to be drawn for tickets they are that much in demand

we choose a place depends on how far we want to travel.
last yr ...with things going on with medical event , we chose a place 2 hours away for about 3 days. My swh arranged for motel stay in our budget. We did the road trip to beaches, walks around town, pedal biking in a group with the transom bike.

good that you all got to go away during the medical event. That was a decent distance to travel.
did your motel have a fridge or microwave so you could save some money? We look for that if we can at a resonable price or take our plu in cooler and other coolers if gone for a few days. We sure appreciate places with a microwave we can use too
I would love to be at the beach...i bet you did too.

We have never used a travel agent so we've always done the research ourselves.

We aren't very strict but we usually have a reasonable budget.
