Ahhh ... finally working on those hallway walls, sanding the drywall patches down, washing the walls.

I have a question from the following and I highlighted it in blue and bolded the text.

What you should know about interior color paints:

  • Dark colors require more maintenance than light colors.
  • Dark colors fade sooner than light colors.
  • Dark colors absorb more heat than light colors.
  • Actual colors are slightly different from what you see in color swathes or online color samples.
  • The total effect of the color depends on the extent of the area to be painted. A color scheme that looks great in a large spacious room, for instance, may not necessarily exude the same feel in a smaller, less spacious room.
  • Painting ceilings white will create an illusion of space. If the ceiling is very high, however, paint it a shade darker than the wall color.
  • Match the skirting color to that of the floor to give a larger feel to the area.

So what is a skirting?

That's a pretty puzzle and I'll bet it looks really good framed too!! I would go with a light neutral color on the walls, like the lighter shades in the bucket that she's holding. Then you can use any of the other colors for accent colors in accessories. Definitely use white ceiling paint that is made for ceilings.

most ceilings are white..it will add light to a room and height. make the rooms look larger and cleaner if you ask me. i think a lot of people with tray ceilings(ceilings with ledges along the outside and the middles higher) maybe are using the different colors. i painted my bedroom ceiling the same colors on parts of the sealing because of the slanted walls. that was in the old house
