Hi Ladies, I have a wierd question but maybe some of you can relate. I simply do not sleep enough. I sleep about 5 hours and that is all. I work so much and should be worn out but I am just as energetic as ever. If I do get tired I get over it. I wonder why I am like that. When I was younger I slept 8-9 hours but cannot do it now. Is it hereditary? My mother is almost 80 and she says a

Hi MaryAnne! I average about 6 hours a night and as you know, I am basically going strong from morning till about 10-11PM at night. That's when I finally can sit and read a little or have an hour to myself. I often wonder about it catching up with me one day also.

I think that we all have our own circadium rythym (I think it's called that) where our inside 'clock' is what it is. I know people who would just fall down each day around 3PM if they didn't get between 8-10 hours each night. In fact, on weekends they get 10-12 hours!! Once in a great while I will sleep in (if H doesn't make too much noise) and get about 8-10 hours and I feel refreshed but also like I missed out on some important awake hours!

I guess after years of not getting my full 8 I am just used to functioning on less? I don't mind sleeping less hours each night as long as it's uninterrupted sleep. That's MY problem is that I don't sleep straight through.

BTW, how have you been?

I think our bodies are good at adapting to what becomes our habits.

I personally need a solid 9 hours to be at my best. But everyone is different and it changes as you age. My dad has always been able to get by on less sleep than most people. When I was a kid, he maybe slept 6-7 hours plus a half hour nap after work.

Hi heartsandroses, I have been doing really well. It has been work as usual and coming home, church, the usual things. You sound as if you do not get a whole lot of sleep either. I suppose it is our circadium rhythym as we are still alive. lol. I cannot imagine anyone sleeping

Hi mamato, My goodness but I never thought of that. It sounds logical. We are no longer growing and we require less sleep. I also remember my grandparents and my great aunts all being up before me when I was 10. I have had insomina and it is terrible. I remember having it

Actually, MaryAnne, it's in the 50's today! We're having torrential rains but at least it's warmer. Almost balmy! LOL

I joined curves and I have been going about 4X/week and I am loving it. I don't think I've lost any weight but I have tons of energy and my attitude is so strangely positive. My car broke down the other night on the way home - I couldn't wait to get home - I have my 16dd with me and she was all disgruntled, but it didn't really ruin my night. I called H, who also was a little put out, but then we all sat in my car waiting for the tow truck and laughing, having a good ol' time. If that had happened a few months ago, my feelings would have been different I think. Also, since the perv was sentenced last month, I felt a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders too, you know?

Anyway, we're going on a cruise in March - have you ever been? I know you're a big traveler so I wondered if you could offer any tips? I've never cruised, I've always been strictly a car/plane traveler.
