What room in your house would you say is the most unorganized room?

I'd have to say my kitchen is the most unorganized. It is the center of the house, where we congregate, everything. All the papers and bills are in there on a table, stacked neatly. I have to go through them once in a while and wind up throwing most of it out! I think that because I'm so organized at work (out of necessity) I fall asleep on the job at home. Plus, we've simply run out of space. This Spring my H is supposed to do an addition on our home, so maybe with the added space, I will be able to better spread things out and create better organization. I want built in shelving on either side of the fireplace for all my books (God, there are so many no matter how many I pass along!). I also want enclosed cabinetry on the bottom of those shelves for board games, saved magazines, etc. In the den area, I also want end tables with cabinets for similar items and spare blankets. I want the linen closet to have an opening from the bath side for easy access to towels and such. I also want a carpeted den and living area, with only partial wood flooring. I want a tiled kitchen floor and counters for easier clean up. And I want giant hooks for all my cookware in the kitchen to free up cabinet space for other items like bakeware and pantry items.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

My bedroom! ACK!!
Its horrible. Its small so there isnt much space for anything. Like, I iron every morning... but there is no where to store the ironing board... anywhere... so it stays in my room. All of the closets are filled with boxes, and both closets in our bedroom have a peice of furniture in it just so we can walk in our room. One has the dresser, and the other has a bookshelf... even though at this moment, its more of a box/junk shelf! We are somewhere between packed and horribly terribly disorganized unpacked, b/c we have been trying to buy a house and we have been so busy with traveling and work that nothing has been done recently. I say we just need to through stuff away and get a bigger room!!

I think it is the kitchen. the cupboards are full of everything from pots and pans to stationery supplies and I have a miscellaneous drawer I go through often, because it fills up so fast. I just don't know what to do with all the stuff! I need it, so can't throw it out, but there's no good place to put it all!

Dear Kathie, The computer room needs help. I have too much stuff and no where to put it all. I do not have my mothers organizational skills either. What I want to do is clean this room and give away what I do not need. The rest of the house is alright. I could use another room though. Where does one begin anyway when you have stuff stacked up high. What does one do when space runs out? lol.I do

Shannon,

Sounds like you could really use the extra space.

I once read an article about goal making and goal reaching. One of the suggestions for reaching a goal, such as saving money to buy a pool or new bedset, etc., ws to cut a picture our draw a picture of your heart's desire and pin it up someplace that you see everyday, such as next to your night stand or on the fridge. I did that with a picture of the pool I wanted and voila! I now have a smaller version of the Atlantic Ocean in my yard (I actually only wanted a small pool, but when H bought it home it was HUGE - more for me to clean, yeah). Anyway, we also did this with the bed that's being delivered next Saturday. For years we've wanted the Tempurpedic bed, california king sized - my H twitches all night and wakes me up so I want the cal king for space, plus since H works so hard, he wanted a weighless bed. So, after staring at the picture for over a year, we finally put a down payment on a bed and it's finally being delivered next week! And another cool thing is that my mother got rid of her cal king bed so we get all her nearly new sheets.

Anyway, the pictures have helped me meet many goals over the past couple of years.
