Oh dear , I'm sorry that's happening.... gee, can't they hire someone faster? I guess not, but how do they expect your dh and collegue to just roll with it is beyond me.... gee...
Well, I guess they do have a guy who will eventually take the late shift, but he won't be trained well enough for at least a year. I understand the reasoning behind it, but still don't see why they don't put more people in the rotation for the split shift, so dh won't have to do it so often.
Ann, that bites. I once had a bf and we worked opposite shifts -
Oddly enough, my brother and his wife have ALWAYS worked opposite shifts and they are closer and more lovey dovey than any other couple I know. They just seem to make it work, they commisserate with one another about the challenges thier opposite shifts create and they even managed to squeeze in 4 kids ranging in ages 22 - 11! Whenever I visit with them, I am in awe of thier relationship. They learned over the years that there are just certain things that need to take a backseat and that being good parents and respectful of one another were high up on the priority list. They have toyed with the idea of my brother taking a day job, but it never worked out. Maybe when thier kids are older? Perhaps there is something to that absence making the heart grow fonder thing....
Hang in there and hopefully your H will get the break he needs (and you too!).
