Staying at home with a bottle of champagne together and nice quiet dinner after the younger ones go to bed. Two oldest, 15 and 13, at sleepovers so it will be nice and quiet.

We are planning to stay at a local hotel and go to a party downtown put on by a radio station. My mom is in town so she'll watch the little one.
The only thing that can ruin this plan is that my hubby discovered he has a kidney stone last Thursday and it still hasn't passed. He's been taking pain pills. Today he is having a cat scan done to find where it is. He's trying to talk the doc into taking care of it with an ultrasound laser (??) that apparently disolves it so he can pass it.
We haven't been out for New Years for 5 years because hubby always has to work.
