Hi,Staying home this year as I did on Thanksgiving but staying at home because my parents are still upset we did not come on Thanksgiving! Have invited them up and will have friends stopping by and a neighbor for dinner who is alone this year. Love Christmas as it is relaxed. We have a full ham dinner but appetizers all day long with mull cider, candles burning and a lot of fun!
CO-CL to Stress and Women, Bereavement and Healing,
We're staying home this year and it should be pretty quiet. We usually host Christmas dinner for about 17 people but decided not to do it this year. I have one aunt coming over for dinner and the my SIL, BIL and 2 nephews will drop in later for dessert. So, I hoping for a relatively relaxing day with just our 2 kiddos.
Xmas Eve morning we go to my mom's to open presents, that evening we got to my grandparents and open presents. Xmas Day we open here at home then DH & the kids go to his moms then after lunch we go to my grandparents to have dinner. Boy it's gonna be crazy around here:)
Spoke to them yesterday kind of and they are still upset and refuse to come up. Tried to tell them each year is precious and memorable with the kids as they get older and how much I would love to have them here but was met with silence on that. Feel bad about all this but... Will pray for them at Christmas Eve service and light a candle on Christmas day as they will be missed! Kids are a little upset about this but we will move forward and celebrate no matter what.
I'll try to remember to breathe LOL!! Things have changed a little though. My mom called this morning and said she'd come by here Xmas Eve day so we don't have to go over there so early. So that's ging to make it easier, that's a 30 minute drive I don't have to take now:)
