I am!!! That was one of my requirements before I agreed to remarry!! Never again would I let a man take over the tv or remote!! I'm on husband #3, I have a lot of experience in these things..LOL!!

Actually, though, we almost never watch tv. He likes tv even less than I do and never turns it on at home. If I'm occasionally watching something, it's on my little 19" tv next to my computer desk. He'll sometimes peek in on what I'm watching, but loses interest soon and goes back to his computer or reading. In hotels, we sometimes will turn the tv on for a little while. He's usually the first one to turn it on and I let him fiddle with the channels for a bit, then I'll take over. I'm a take over kind of gal. Bet you could have guessed that..lol!

Why am I not surprised you are in control of the remote....lol
Did you have that in your marriage vows?:smileywink:

No problem with remotes here....We never watch TV together. We don't enjoy the same programs. I can't remember the last time we watched TV or a movie together.

It was clearly discussed in the "getting to know ya" dating phase. I laid all my stuff out before him, what I would and would not tolerate. I told him that if there was anything I'd mentioned that he couldn't live with, he'd better leave! He wouldn't leave though. I also told him I'm not bluffing, told him that a few times. Still, he kept coming back. Wow, I must be really something, he couldn't resist me..LOL!!!

Example...Sunday morning he was being grumpy. I told him to straighten up or I'd go to church without him. He didn't. I did. He drove himself to church after I left and came in sheepishly to sit with me. I really didn't expect him to show up. When he did, it took me a few minutes to get my head back into a worshipful experience..lol! He has to have a refresher course every now and then to remind himself that I will not take crap from any man!! Marriage...it's like raising another kid sometimes!! lol

Never would have guessed Donna,
Although with as little tv as you two watch .. wouldn't think it was a problem.
So he doesn't mind then that you prefer to hang on to it?
Nice going :)

I don't think he minds, he never has mentioned it.
If there's something that I think he doesn't like, though,
I'll ask him or I'll change the channel.
