I had an ob appt today and my last one I knew I was measuring 2 weeks ahead on the belly tape and by u/s the baby was measuring over 2 weeks, well I'm measuring over 4 weeks ahead now

Oh my! Well, I guess I'm with you on that one. At least if she does come in 3 more weeks she'll be stout :) That would be sort of scary to have someone say 'goliath' sized though.

I can imagine I would want to go earlier as well if they had told me I would give birth to a Goliath! Its good to know that baby should be a healthy size if she comes early.

I'm not sure I would want a doctor using the word Goliath to describe the baby no matter how big he or she was! My midwife just likes to say the baby feels a good, healthy size. After I had my almost 10lb-er I asked why she didn't mention the baby was so big and she said that usually that information just stresses people out and makes them nervous about the birth.

I remember my nurse feeling my uterus and me asking if it felt big....she said she wouldn't wanna say because people get freaked .He was almost 10#. Whatever size.....you can do it! ;) fat squeezes. And your a experienced mamma....you will do great. Your dr. On the other hand probably shouldn't use certain words.....this is our vagina after all! Lol mine always says healthy size too.

I probably would have said a few choice words to that doctor for using the term "goliath". It's offensive. I would have asked him if it was goliath like his ego or something... There are women that have birthed "healthy sized" babies for many, many years. You can do it.

What is it with fear of having big babies? I fear having a tiny baby because I'd be afraid I'd break something.

Yeah I was taken aback for sure when he said that, I mean my bigger baby was my easiest, I know I can do it but geez man, bedside manner!

oh wow! That surely would make me nervous! Though the belly tape could be off due to position and even ultrasound can be off a pound either way - but yikes!! Hope it's not a goliath baby and that you can get to at least 36 weeks too!
