Before I realized what I was doing I picked up a 10 gallon water refill pack to put into our water filter at work... my lower tummy hurt for a little while after but that has subsided now... I hope I didn't injure or jeopardize my uterus or the baby today... anyone else done something like this before?

i think you will be fine, constant strain can put stress on your body which is never good. but one time shouldn't do anything to affect your pregnancy

I heft giant toddlers all day at work and haven't had any problems in any of my pregnancies. :) I was told to not do any lifting that requires bearing down...if that makes sense.

Well I have 2 heavy kids and I am also a waitress and I have never been told not to lift anything heavy with a previous pregnancy - so I wouldn't worry! LOL

When I am bigger, I obviously don't go lifting heavy things ... but for now I just operate as usual!

I always figured that in the beginning of your pregnancy, you can live your life like normal, as long as you follow cues from your body re: fatigue, nausea, etc. At this point in the game, the uterus hasn't changed all that much and the baby is well protected in there.
