Measuring 4 weeks ahead?

So yesterday at my 34 week appt, the nurse practioner was measuring and spent a long time moving baby and dealing with tape measure, etc.

Those fundal height measurements can be pretty bizarre. I think I remember a time when I was measuring hugely and then at the next appt I was measuring small. Baby was perfectly fine. It is nice that you are having the ultrasound just to ease your mind though :)

If you have GD, you can get a very large baby .

At my 30wk ultrasound, I was measuring about 3wks ahead. I'm still measuring ahead. MIGHT find out a little more info this afternoon.

The fundal height measurement isn't always the most accurate. It depends on baby's position, the way each dr does it, etc. If you keep your sugars under control, there's no reason baby would be any larger than normal. I had GD with my DS and he was 6 lb! I'm sure your us will reassure you.

I wouldn't worry until the fat lady sings, so to speak :) That u/s should give you a slightly better idea. GD babies can be big, which is I'm sure why they're keeping an eye on you. That said, my GD baby was also my smaller one at 6lb 14oz. Go figure!

My gd baby was also my smaller 7"4. But its because I had it under control. I remember with one if my boys I measure 44 weeks at 40. Unreal. He was 8"10 so not huge.

Back at my 32 week appt I was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead. The rest of the time I measured on track. At my 33 week apt I was measuring on track again. I think it was the way the baby was positioned, as I hear that can sometimes throw the results off. My SIL had GD and she still had small babies.

Of course getting to have an u/s is always a good thing. So nice and reassuring to see the baby. For me they wanted to be sure there wasn't too much amniotic fluid and that was why I had an u/s. That can make you appear ahead as well but I don't think that is very common and most of the time the excess amount is of no concern.

I am sure everything will be fine though. Let us know how it goes!
