Baby Nickname

Spin-off from the post about keeping the baby's name a secret.

For those who ARE keeping the name a secret, will you use a nickname for the baby? If so, what?

DH and I are trying to decided on how to refer to our little one other than "The Baby" and I absolutley HATE when somone uses "it" to describe our child.

I've seen women refer to baby as the comparable fruit they were for that stage in the pregnancy (based on a ticker).  I've heard bean, and used peanut myself.  As my babies grew, they became "turkies," lol.  I have no doubt that you and your dh will find a pet name for your little one that sticks for the duration of the pregnancy.

I don't recall having any special names for DD when she was still in utero.  It definitely become easier after you find out the sex of the baby (if you plan to) because then you (and others) can use the appropriate "he/she".

Sorry i can't be much help.  You'll find something you like and hopefully others will follow suit :smileyhappy:

I always called my babies a nickname based on what they looked like at the 1st U/S that I got to see them for the first time. My oldest DS we called him pickle cause thats what he looked like, my 2nd DS, we called him peanut and my 3rd DS we called him wiggle cause he was wiggling all over the place! This one looked just like a gummy bear when we seen him on the U/S so I think we'll call this one our gummy bear ;-D
