Figuring out all the new relationships and roles when a new baby arrives can be very challenging. Most new parents are surprised by what they learn about themselves and their partners when a baby comes.

Does your DH/SO actively help out with baby care? Does your partner change diapers or get up in the middle of the night? What doesn't he do that you wish he would?

As a nursing mom, I do most of the baby care.  But we do make sure DH gets some bonding time every day with Alyssa--he has to fight our boys for it these days! (Our boys are 10 and 12 and so in love with their sister!)

My little girl gets up 2 times per night and we split the night time feedings, so DH does 1 night time feeding.  He makes bottles for me during the day, but he has been working from home since she was born, so I do most of the baby care during the day.  He is really good about helping out with our 2 year old.  He bathes him and gets him ready for bed after dinner.  DH also usually cooks dinner these days.  So he helps as much as he can, just not usually with the direct baby care!
