OK, I had no clue with my first that he was about to be born! I just sat down on the couch at 38 weeks and my water broke and it was on. But this time I have this strange uncomfotable feeling that I'm going to deliver soon. I'm only 35 weeks and I feel like I'm going crazy. In the passed 2 days I have cleaned the house from top to bottom except the kitchen and livingroom. I have taken apart all the baby gear and washed the covers and put it all together. We assembled the last of the baby furniture. I figured out the double stroller and how to attach the car seat. I'm going to make my DH put the car seat in the car tonight. I just feel like we are out of time and this baby is going to be here any day now. I understand the concept of nesting, though I never had the feeling with my DS, but does nesting come with an uneasy feeling that you are going to deliver any day now? Anyone else feeling this?

I don't have it now--although I have been nesting and have the baby gear ready to go and the car seat sitting by the garage door--but I did have the exact feelings you do with #2--that was 10 yrs ago but I remember it vividly--the OB's were all on strike, dh was out of state and I was nesting like crazy and did have ds at 34 weeks so my instincts were right!!!!!! No one in the hospital believed me that I actually had my meals in the freezer, the house clean, the baby stuff ready, everything done!
Good luck!
Thanks Aliwag! My husband thinks I have lost my mind. I tried to explain it to him but he just thinks I'm weird. I hope my feelings are wrong but I just can't shake it. He won't put the car seat in tonight, he said worst case he can always throw it in the car and install it at the hospital.
Last week, someone told me that if I was only 5 weeks from my due date, that I'd better get the car seat and get it installed. I jsut learned that some are not compatible with the Toyotas we have. Luckily, the one I chose is. We'll be picking it and the bases up this week.
Yesterday, I felt the first strong Braxton-Hicks contraction I can remember. It was followed by another, 5 mins later, another 7 mins later, then stopped.
How active has your baby been? I was reading that they are usually very active the month before they deliver, but then start to quiet down and sleep mainly for one month or at least one week prior to delivery. Anyone noticed that with their other children?
Me!!! I've definitely had weird vibes that this baby will get here sooner than later. It's also driving me nuts that my DH is leaving his phone at times when he leaves the house. I think...what if my water breaks etc. My house is nice and clean and all the clothes etc put away and meals for 3 weeks in the freezer. I just ordered a couple of last things online that I decided I wanted new (as opposed to hand me downs) and so am waiting for those to arrive. But worse case scenario I can get those after I deliver. I feel like I need to have this baby soon so he can be born into a clean home before my other kiddies wreck the place...haha. But, in order to do my planned homebirth I need to make it one more week so here's hoping.
She is a little less active than normal. But still pretty active. I don't remember with my DS if he stopped moving much before delivery or not. I have been having very strong BH contractions. Last night they were coming about ever 30 minutes, but nothing ever came of that. I got up this morning and immediately had another contraction! My sister is coming for the birth and is suppose to get her just before 38 weeks and stay until the baby is born. I'm wondering if she is going to make it!

Jennifer--I don't ever remember having as clear a feeling about anything else!! So I really don't think you are crazy!
My baby's activity certainly has calmed down---she is still moving all over the place--she's breech and her head is pretty distinct to pick out--I'm not due till the end of April--just 34 weeks so maybe! I delivered my last at 34 weeks and don't remember about activity for the 1st one-he was born at almost 37 weeks.
I was at the Chiropractor today and she confirmed that baby has definitely dropped!! Maybe I'm not crazy!! I was reading that with a second pregnancy, baby can drop early or just before labor. I've also been having strange pains in my lower abdomen and groin, not sure if they are contractions or not!! I know they don't feel like the BH contractions I've been having. This hurts!!
I have been having pains in my groin for several weeks. It usually means I am overtired and need to sit down. I don't know if the they are liek the ones you're experienceing at all. The contractions I think I felt were specifically right at my vag. That was more like a movement, whereas the others are more like pressure.
