Introducing Lilah Rosalina... Emergency C-section

I started contracting at 7-8am spaced 4-6 mins apart on 3-29. By 4pm they were 2-3 minutes apart. I was 2cm when in labor check but an hour after walking was a 3. An hour after that a 4. I was admitted. My doctor had 2 EDDs one from LMP 4/9 the other from 3 ultrasounds all saying 4/13. They were reluctant to let me labor. By 11pm my water broke and contractions stopped. I was given pitocin at a level 7 in an IV bag. By 6am I was 6 going on 7cm and 90% effaced. Then the unthinkable; every contraction resulted in severe decels under 60 bpm up to a mnute. By 7:30 am her heart was in constant decel in transition but my cervix refused to dialate! I was stuck at 7-8cm for an hour almost. By 8am a team of nurses and doctors entered my room. Her heart rate was 40 bpm and even stopped she was on internal scalpie fetal monitoring. All surgeries in the birth center not underway were ordered halted we had some color code playing through the hospital. Over a dozen nurses, doctors from high risk and NICU came in with anesthesiologists. No time for pain medicines, no time for epidurals, no time for spinals. I was put under general anesthesia and she was taken out not even a few minutes later said my OBGYN. She was born at 8:23 am. I had a rare condition my uterus never expanded properly on the bottom half near the cervix to let her out; bandeliure (sp?) of the uterus. One of the high risk doctors had only seen it 5 times ever.

She survived and stabalized in NICU Apgars 8/9. She is early term 6lbs 5ozs. We named her Lilah Rosalina (Night Beauty's Rose). She has black hair like me and gray blue eyes. I'm very sore from my c-section I was wanting a natural birth but after 24+ hours of labor and the scare I am lucky angels were with us to save her life. We bought the staff thank you cards and our nurse who stayed 4 hours past her schedule a gift bag and card.

Lilah is a level 5 jaundice we are hoping it stays low. She nurses well!

Contgrats!!  So glad both of you are okay.  My son was Jaunice too.  We just had to follow a strick 2 hour feeding schedule until it was resolved.  But it wasn't bad for him.  Beautiful baby!!

So that's two of us who thought we were going in for a natural birth and ended up with C-sections. So glad you are both OK, and that baby Lilah is beautiful and gaining health. Hoep your helaing process is going well, and that you are both on your way in no time.
