Due Date Question
| Tue, 01-24-2012 - 8:03am |
Hi Everyone! So I have been given two pretty different due dates and I'm curious which one you would go by if you were me. If you go off my LMP then my date would be 8/18. When I had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and they measured the baby and said my due date was 8/28. The nurse at my family doc said that we would use the 8/18 date - but I haven't seen my OB yet. I see you on Feb 14. So which date should I trust?

According to the u/s tech to did my u/s at 7 weeks, they are extremely accurate during the first trimester.
Typically, the EDD
If your cycle is regular, or if you know when you O'ed, than I go with the date of your LMP or date of conception.
Do you (did you) have a really regular cycle?
See, I don't know. My LMP EDD is 8/8, but at my 7w US (or maybe it was at the 5w, not sure), baby measured at an EDD of 8/5 -- that's the date my OB is using and the date I'm going by at this point. 3 days isn't a big deal, so I don't really care one way or the other. 10 days is kind of a lot just from the perspective of if you don't deliver by your EDD, they may induce (though with my first, 19 years ago, they let me go 8 days after my EDD before inducing and she arrived technically 9 days late). If this is your first, then they may just let you go a while as well. And, being on the inside of 10 days from your EDD, even if they do induce, by then the baby is all set. As long as you get to about 38w, baby is pretty much considered full-term. Baby just won't weigh as much as s/he would otherwise. I was induced 12d prior to our 3rd's EDD and he was 7'11 -- a good pound+ lighter than both #1 and #2. I practically sneezed him out, so that was really nice. :)
At this point, were it me, I'd wait to see what the OB says. For now maybe you could split the difference?
