The AAP now recommends extended rear-facin your children until 2yrs old, minimum. For those who haven't seen the reasons behind this, or those who are FTMs, or returning to babyhood after a few years off, here's a concise link to catch you up!

My son is 23 months and will RF indefinitely, until he reaches the weight limit on his seat. :)

Oh and, Sara, I have been a member of iVillage since 2005, despite what my avatar says :P Back then the car seat board was hard to keep up with!

Yeah, it was a lot busier just a couple years ago when I went there for help deciding on a seat for Quinn. I got him the First Years TF and timing wise its been great for us, he just out-grew it RFing by weight earlier this year (like Feb) and almost by height, he had like 2-3 inches left. But he's been FFing since he was 2, compromise with DH, since he was FFing in his back-up seat at 16 months (it was a Scenra, he's completely outgrown it now, by height and almost by weight).
