During your first pregnancy, when did you first feel the baby move?

It definitely could be, my DS was what I call a "stretcher". What I mean by that is I would feel him moving around and my first feelings were of a very gentle sliding sensation along a line. I never felt him kick or punch or other sharp movements, like I've heard some mom's say they feel like baby is doing flips. This baby has been very much a kicker/puncher, which feel like a sharp sudden push against some part of my body (occasionally my bladder, much to my dismay). So this could be your first feelings, I've noticed with this child that he/she is more active shortly after I eat or since I'm a coffee drinker, after my cup in the morning (getting the kid hooked already, lol). You might start looking for times when you feel movement, after meals, or maybe at the end of the day when your resting? I noticed my first feelings when I was going to sleep with my first.

I have not had an US since 8 weeks. But my next one is in exactly one week. Hopefully I will find out about the placenta and the gender! I have been paying more attention to my belly and actually do think I have been feeling movement. I have these sporadic vibrating sensations in my belly that are real brisk. I keep thinking it is my cell phone but quickly realize I don't even have my phone near me. I am guessing this is my first feeling of movement? Does this sound like that?

I am 19 wks 5 days. I have not felt any movement yet either and I have to say it also has me worried. Everyone keeps asking if I have felt movement yet and they seem surprised when I tell them no. I have a friend who is 1 wk behind me in due date (also her 1st) and she has been feeling movement for weeks.. I expressed my concern to my midwife last week and she said that she usually tells everyone to be expecting movement between 22-24 weeks. She also said that it has alot to do with how the placenta is laying. She said that sometimes the placenta will act as a pillow between baby and moms tummy, thus making movement harder to feel. With all that being heard, my nerves are more settled and I know that I will be feeling it soon.. But I have been 2nd guessing everything being felt in my tummy and have attributed everything so far to normal or "gas"..:)

I felt at 17 weeks with my first for the first time. And it basically just felt like some taps... nothing too definitive or powerful and could have been easily not felt.

I'm not a BTDT mom, but a first time mom like you, and I haven't felt anything either. Don't sweat it! It is totally normal! I'm not expecting to till closer to 20 week, and my dr. confirmed that I likely wouldn't feel it till then.

I was 22ish weeks before I felt with my first, and I had my placenta above the baby, so that made it more difficult to feel. I'm 17 wks with this one and have felt some movement. Last night while eating spaghetti for dinner and hunched over, baby didn't like that, lol.

Agree with everyone else -- was 20 weeks or more with Libby. I'm 18 weeks now with #4 and still only feeling her very sporadically.

It'll happen soon! Hang in there!
