BAD period cramps?

OMG is this normal? I only got a few hours sleep last night because I had horrible period-like cramps in my lower uterus area (normal area pre pregnancy) I have been getting the sharp shooting pains and the nerve twinges too, but these are awful because they really don't go away....they just linger and go from bad to worse, back to bad...finally they subsided long enough for me to fall asleep for a little while and then came back in the morning for a short time...what is that about? Anyone know?

Oooooo, exciting! My labor feels like period cramps that build in intensity, and around like a belt, then reach a peak, and deconstruct back down. Sounds like you are getting there! And happily, "false" labor does stuff too, so it could be your body softening and effacing your cervix! Woot!
