Well that good thing is they notified you hella-fast this time. Thank goodness. Now you can get a plan in place and have a head start on giving yourself and baby the healthiest possible pregnancy. Chin up!

Bummer! But it's good they caught it early so both the docs and you can monitor yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear about your test. I was borderline with the boys so they had me do everything like I had GD and it was a pain but worth it. They will do a little class that teaches you what amounts of carbs that you can eat at specific times of the day. Mine were:

Breakfast: 15-30
Snack: 15-30
Lunch: 45-60
Snack: 15-30
Dinner: 45-60
Bedtime Snack 15-30

They explain the big thing is to keep you blood sugar even throughout the day, so you have to eat a little here and there. It really wasn't that hard once you get started with it.

They will also give you a glucose meter. That's the hard part. You have to test 4 times a day, roughly 2 hours after every main meal and right when you first wake up. That's not too fun, but it's totally worth it.

On the bright side, I lost 5 lbs in a week being 30 weeks pregnant with twins, and kept that off til the end, so it's not a bad thing to control your weight gain.

Good luck! I hope I didn't overwhelm you, it's not too bad really. :D

I agree that it really isn't too bad. The first two weeks were hard for me as my body adjusted to the diet. I spent most of that time grumpy and feeling sorry for myself. But now I am used to it and feel better. You can do it! Hang in there and feel free to vent!

Thanks guys! This week she has me on zero to little carbs to get a weeks worth of readings. I go in on Monday again. She also wasn't happy because my blood pressure was up a little so my doc is sending me to a different obgyn to see if they could co doctor me since she is a family practice doctor who specializes in obgyn.

I wonder if they took into account the stress your prolly under right now as to a reason you BP would be up? With my last OB if my pressure was above normal for me, they would ask about stressors to rule that out as a reason. Just my thoughts.

I haven't gone for the test yet, but I've been testing my sugars and they are pretty much what they were last time when I was pregnant and had it. I'm sure they will be testing me soon. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.. this is my 3rd time doing the gest. diabetes thing.
