First ultrasounds?

I was a little bummed to find out that I won't be getting an ultrasound until 20 weeks (unless I opt for testing at 12).  Anyone having one done earlier? I thought for sure they'd do a dating ultrasound but I was very wrong... lol

At the birth center I'm using this time, they usually only do a 20-week ultrasound. But because we've had a previous loss, we're getting one done at 8 weeks, on the 30th.

I don't think I could wait until 20 weeks! It's hard enough now - with my daughter, we were living in Japan, and they do ultrasounds at every visit. At 8 weeks, we had already seen her twice and heard her little heartbeat!

We're having our first ultrasound next week at around 7.5 weeks. With our first, we had one every 4-6 weeks. I couldn't possibly wait as long as 20 weeks to see him/her! :D

With all three of my previous pregnancies, the procedure was to wait until 20 weeks.  With baby #1, I got an earlier one at about 10 weeks because the doc couldn't find a heartbeat.

It's hard to wait, but 20 weeks usually flies by!  Hang in there. :)

Count your blessings.  I never had early ultrasound testing done during my first three pregnancies.  But then I started having a string of miscarriages, so now its routine for me.  Last time around we didn't and should have (not that it would have changed things; I just would have known I was miscarrying earlier).  I'm absolutely positive I'll have one done this time around somewhere around 6-7 weeks.

I am getting one May 6th. I will be 8 weeks 3 days. They are doing it for dating, and because my last baby I lost at 5 weeks. Also I had a premie last pregnancy. So they will be doing lots of ultrasounds. I have a high risk pregnancy due to being overweight, previous premie, and also GD. I will be glad to see him/her every appt pretty much, but I wish I could just have a normal pregnancy. :/

I had my first u/s today.  Saw the baby's heartbeat, and he or she was squirming quite a bit.  I'm 8 weeks, 4 days but was told the baby is measuring about 9 weeks.  I'm not sure what to expect from this OB/GYN because we live in a different state from when I was pregnant the first time.  But I'm not expecting another u/s until 20 weeks-ish.
