Hi everyone,

I just found out I was pregnant this week--something seemed off, I tested one day before my expected period and it was positive.

Its so good to read all of this stuff. Helps me feel so much more at ease. I just found out im pregnant for the 1st time. I am super excited, but so nervous. I know I need to relax and understand that its all in god's hands, but Its so hard. I am having nausea, but was concerned b/c my boobs don't hurt. Crazy that we are upset that were feeling good isn't it!! So glad to know that I am not alone.

I know that it's easier said than done to just relax & not worry.

If it helps at all, I don't get my first ultrasound until 12 weeks!!

Still no real symptoms aside from the sore breasts...ah well. I got my blood results back and they are "great." They are actually quite high for being 4 weeks, 4 days (I looked on the wrong calendar for the 5 weeks thing--surprised me!). My hCG is 5389 and my prog is 33, which are all for weeks ahead of me.

I'm not reading the Mayo book for the info on birth defects; I'm reading it for the other stuff! I'm staying away from the birth defects info; I already know the statistics and don't need to analyze them. :\

Anyway, the nurse said to come in on Nov 12th for my first ultrasound to see the heartbeat and take a picture. It seems like everyone is getting their ultrasound earlier than 8 weeks...I am all jealous!

I can attest to the reassurance you feel after the serum hCG test.

I keep telling myself that at different stages I'll start to relax and feel more confident that things will be OK.

Mannigans, I only have mild symptoms, too, and it's bothersome to me...strange, I want to feel sick...my boyfriend thinks I am nuts.

I called my OB today and asked for bloodwork to test hCG and progesterone so ensure everything is on track--instead of seeing my general physician for a simple "yes/no" bloodtest. I figured that would ease my mind more. So they ordered the bloodwork and I went to pick up the paperwork since they don't draw blood in the OB's office (which drives me crazy). It was all done within 30 minutes, though, and now I play the waiting game! I figured, though, those blood tests would be better than the simple confirmation ones at my regular doctor's office, anyway.

I did order a baby book and it arrives from Amazon tomorrow--it's the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. I minored in biology so I like more science-minded stuff and apparently the usual "What to Expect When Expecting" books are more casual and vague. I need hard facts and sound advice right now!

Bacon and eggs...one of my favorite breakfasts...tomorrow I plan on having sausage and eggs. I have been craving eggs (and raspberries) like you wouldn't believe!

I'm so happy to have found this place where I can openly share my anxieties.
